JEAN BRASSARD, a son of Quebec City, moved to the States over two decades ago, first on a scholarship with the Boston Ballet, then to New York a year later where he studied with Gina Barnett of Ensemble Studio Theatre and John Basil at the American Globe Theater. He was a founding member of Artaban Repertory Theater, a company made up mostly of European actors under the helm of Robert Gourp from Arianne Mouchkine's Theatre du Soleil, with which he produced Don Juan in Manhattan. With Frederique, he performed as Duodacieux for five years, while co-hosting the World Wrestling Federation weekly shows Raw and Superstar for their international French market. His television credits include Sex in the City and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Jean is author of the plays Small World, Where the Waters Run Deep (awarded a residency at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts), and A Thousand Julys. He is host of Chez Jean, a cabaret-variétés benefit-for-artists project and was recently the guest singer for Steve Ross' Dietz & Schwartz concert at the Metropolitan Museum alongside Moira Stone and KT Sullivan. www.jeanbrassard.com.
